I was born on a farm in SW Michigan (well actually in a hospital in the nearest town of Dowagiac) and started riding at age 10 on an old Cushman box scooter. I graduated to a new Riverside scooter from Montgomery Wards when I was 13 on which I logged many a back road Michigan mile. I finally graduated to a real motorcycle, a 1950 Indian Warrior, when I was 15. Since then, I've owned a variety of bikes, both off-road and street, and after 54 years I never tire of riding and the feeling of freedom it brings. Most of all, I enjoy long distance touring, and being on the open road for a couple of weeks at a time. I hope to chronicle some of those trips here, mostly for the enjoyment and reminiscence of friends who have been along for the ride and anybody else who might care to read along.
